Mike has 38 years of education, training, coaching and swimming experience. Leading his swimmers to 10 Junior National records, 24 National Qualifiers, and eight Olympic Trial Qualifiers, Mike has seen his graduates attend nationally-recognized swimming programs such as Harvard, Dartmouth, North Carolina, Texas and Auburn. Mike also served as an assistant swimming coach at Harvard University for four years. Prior to moving to New England, Mike was a four-year assistant coach at the State University at Buffalo. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the State University at Buffalo in 1990.

Kristen has been affiliated with Crimson Aquatics (MAG, MVP) for over 28 years. Mike Spring became the Head Coach during Kristen’s senior year of High School in 1993. She began her college career at SUNY Geneseo where she held records in the 500 free, 1000 free and 1650 free, in addition to becoming an All-American in the 1650 free, and 800 free relay. Kristen returned to the local area and started coaching in 1996, and had a short time away from coaching to start her career in education. She was a teacher in Lawrence, MA and is currently teaching fourth grade in Lowell, MA. Away from Crimson she enjoys taking trips to the beach and spending time with family. She is currently working on a CAGS in Educational Leadership. Kristen holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education (1999) from Salem State University, and a Master’s Degree in Reading (2003) from Endicott College.

oach Emily has been teaching swimming for almost 20 years. Emily started her first job as a teacher's aide at age 11 for her local summer club, Inverness Forest (go Loch Ness monsters!). Emily continued to coach every summer while competing in MCSL swimming. During the school year, she competed for Winston Churchill High School and PVS Swim Club All Star Aquatics in Bethesda, Maryland, where she also later coached. She went on to swim for Georgetown University, where she specialized in distance freestyle. After college, Emily went back to All Star Aquatics where she worked with the Age Group swimmers as an assistant coach. In 2018, Emily made the move north to complete her M.Ed in Secondary Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education and began coaching the Brookline Dolphins. She served as the Dolphins Head Coach for three years, ending her tenure with an undefeated 2022-2023 season. In 2023 she moved to New Hampshire, which led her to Crimson Aquatics Andover.

Jamie Paolino

Jamie is our Strength and Conditioning coach who runs our Dryland training program. He has been with Crimson since 2014 and program training for all our groups. Jamie comes from an educational background and enjoys not only coaching his program, but teaching it too. Jamie has a B.A . from Cambridge with a minor in Education and his Masters in Applied Exercise Science and Human Performance with a minor in Corrective
Movement from Concordia University/Chicago. Jamie is certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine and the National Strength Coach Association with a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and a Performance Enhancement Specialist from the National Academy of Sports Medicine as well as a Corrective Movement certification. Jamie is also certified by the Brent Brookbush Institute in Human Movement. Jamie is married and enjoys time fishing and spending time with his wife.
